The 2026 Dodge Charger has stopped pretending there is only one way to build a muscle car. Buyers can choose 2 gas-powered SIXPACK models or the electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack, with output ranging from 420 hp to a rather serious 670 hp. Every model gets standard AWD, and Dodge offers both 2-door and 4-door body styles without changing the basic mechanical formula. There’s even a liftback with 37.4 cu. ft. of maximum cargo space. For Houghton Lake drivers, the important bit may be simpler: this is a performance car that hasn’t forgotten Michigan has winter.

The R/T Is the 420 hp Starting Point

The 2026 Charger R/T uses a 3.0L SIXPACK S.O. Twin-Turbocharged Inline-6 producing 420 hp and 468 lbs. ft. of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic. Standard AWD provides useful traction when northern Michigan roads become slippery, but Dodge hasn’t completely abandoned the traditional Charger idea. Selectable RWD operation can send 100% of available torque to the rear wheels. Dodge estimates 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds. Auto, Sport, Eco, and Wet/Snow drive modes allow the car’s behavior to suit the conditions, which is rather useful when those conditions range from a dry summer road to several inches of February.

Scat Pack Adds Another 130 hp

The gas-powered 2026 Charger Scat Pack uses the high-output version of the 3.0L SIXPACK Twin-Turbo Inline-6, producing 550 hp and 531 lbs. ft. of torque. Twin 54-mm turbochargers generate up to 30 psi of boost, helping Dodge’s estimated 0-60 mph time drop to 3.9 seconds, with the quarter-mile arriving in 12.2 seconds. The extra output isn’t left to fend for itself. Scat Pack gets Brembo® brakes with 6-piston fixed front calipers, Launch Control, Line Lock, performance suspension, active dual-mode exhaust, and 20-inch wheels. Standard AWD remains, along with the ability to select RWD operation when conditions and enthusiasm permit.

Daytona Scat Pack Takes a Completely Different Route

Then there’s the 2026 Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which dispenses with gasoline entirely and produces 670 hp and 627 lbs. ft. of torque through a dual-motor electric AWD system. Dodge estimates 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Energy comes from a 100.5-kWh battery, while PowerShot can provide a temporary 40 hp increase at the driver’s command. Dodge has also fitted its Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system, giving the electric Charger an exterior sound of its own. It isn’t trying to impersonate the SIXPACK cars mechanically. It’s Dodge attempting to translate the theater and straight-line performance associated with Charger into an electric powertrain.

Two or Four Doors, Plus a Surprisingly Useful Hatch

R/T, Scat Pack, and Daytona Scat Pack can each be ordered with 2 or 4 doors, which removes the old assumption that choosing the more practical body means choosing a different performance specification. The hidden-hatch liftback is equally significant. Fold the rear seats and maximum cargo capacity reaches 37.4 cu. ft., enough to make the Charger considerably more useful for luggage and bulky gear than its profile suggests. The 4-door configuration is especially interesting for drivers who need regular rear-seat access but aren’t prepared to surrender 420, 550, or 670 hp to get it.

The Screens Serve the Driver, Not the Other Way Around

A 12.3-inch Uconnect® 5 touchscreen sits at the center of the cabin, while R/T receives a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and offers an available 16-inch display. Available equipment includes a Head-Up Display, wireless charging, fixed panoramic glass roof, and 18-speaker Alpine® Pro audio system. Scat Pack Plus adds the 16-inch driver display, Surround View Camera, ventilated front seats, and additional cabin equipment. There’s plenty of technology here, but the useful pieces are those that keep driving information visible and controls within sensible reach.

Three Chargers, Three Different Levels of Mischief

The R/T offers 420 hp, standard AWD, and a strong entry point into the SIXPACK lineup. Scat Pack turns that formula up to 550 hp and backs it with more serious braking and performance equipment. Daytona Scat Pack is the wild card, delivering 670 hp through electric AWD and doing the whole performance-car business differently.
