The Ram 1500 is Dodge’s flagship full-size pickup truck that has been a popular choice among many who are looking for a truck that can do it all. The Dodge Ram is built to take on just about any type of activities from the base level daily driver to the fully loaded, farm-ready pickup truck with all of the bells and whistles. In between these two different extremes are a few different trim levels that include various different features and benefits to help give you the truck of your dreams. Today, we are going to look at one of these trim levels known as the Big Horn.

The 2019 Dodge Ram Big Horn is the second level trim model right above the base level Tradesman level and is going to be one of the best bang for your buck trucks that you can purchase. In this level, you will get the same great standard options found on the base level, but with some nice creature comfort upgrades. Let’s take a closer look at what you will be getting on this trim level.

Drivetrain

On the 2019 Big Horn, you will get a 3.6L engine standard that put out a healthy 395 horsepower that is equipped with an automatic 8 speed transmission for smooth shifting. This will give you a maxmimum towing capacity of 11,540lbs. It is offered in a 4×2 or 4×4 configuration to give you the option of 4 wheel drive if you plan to use your truck in non-standard terrain. The Big Horn will come with a conventional differential rear axle that is loaded with a 3.21 rear axle gear ratio that will aid in towing.

Exterior

As for the exterior, the Big Horn trim level will offer new colors along with color matched bumpers, door handles, and a chrome grille, a big step up from the base black plastic features found on the Tradesman model. You will also notice gorgeous 18” aluminum wheels that really bring the whole look together. Other exterior features will include remote keyless entry, automatic headlights, front fog lights, illuminated entry, locking tailgate, pickup box, and tinted windows.

Interior

In the interior, you will find some more comfortable upgrades when compared to the base level tradesman model. Here you will see the 4 way manual adjustment front passenger and driver seat, 4 way front headrests, rear 60/40 folding seats for extra room, a three rear seat head restraint. You will also get a 5.0” touchscreen display, leather wrapped steering wheel, locking glove box, overhead console, USB ports, a 6 speaker audio system and a GPS antenna input.
